Olympics Costumes That Made a Statement

The West African country of Senegal made a grand entrance for the opening ceremony of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro competition. As you can see in the picture below, the team is brandishing flags bearing the Senegalese colors: red, green, and yellow. However, their outfits are bereft of red. Instead, they blend yellow and green together.

But, for the most part, their attire is yellow save for one green accent on their blouses/jackets. There’s an understated elegance to their getup, that’s for certain. Yellow, especially one as vibrant as this shade of yellow, is eye-catching. It’s traditional Senegalese garb – nothing more, nothing less. It’s classic.
