11. Running in Gold
Usain Bolt is known the world over as the fastest man alive. The Jamaican sprinter first made noise during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He snagged gold, then went on to win at the 2012 London games. However, his potential “triple-triple” dreams were dashed at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro competition.
Why? Because one of his teammates tested positive for a “banned substance.” This culminated in disqualification for the team across the board. Anyway, Bolt donned a pair of custom-made gold running shoes for the occasion, reminiscent of 1996 gold medalist Michael Johnson’s own kicks. We imagine it would be interesting to run with feet covered in gold.
