Fast food is an American staple. Whether you’re stopping to get some fuel for your road trip or grabbing a quick bite on the go, fast food restaurants are simple go to’s when we’re in a hurry, and more importantly, fast food is delicious! Sometimes you’re just craving that taco or burger from your favorite fast food restaurant. Somehow, fast food restaurants have just perfected their recipes and they never fail to hit the spot. Though the taste of these staples never fails us, as we all know deep down, these restaurants may not be the most squeaky clean restaurants. Many of us are blissfully unaware of how messy and dirty these restaurants may actually be. Here is a tell-all from those who have actually seen what goes on behind the curtains at our favorite fast food joints.

Avoid the Ice Machines
When you think of cleaning a restaurant, you probably imagine taking a broom and a mop to the floor and wiping down the tables and other furniture. But, there is a lot more that goes into it! Aside from cleaning the sitting area of restaurants, employees have to clean the entire kitchen and all of the machines in the store, including the ice machine.

Former employees at some well-known fast-food restaurant chain mention that the ice makers are very rarely cleaned out as well as they should be. Upon first thought, it does not gross us out too much but after thinking about it, there is a lot that can get into an ice machine. Whether that is food crumbs, dirt, or even dead bugs.
