How “Real” is Real Fruit?
We’re all familiar with the Orange Julius drinks, which are advertised as “real fruit.” Chances are, if something is advertised as “fresh” – it isn’t fresh. Otherwise, why would they feel it was necessary to mention it? Just a little something we’ve picked up from this list. The drinks might be delicious, but they’re probably not very nutritious.
This may or may not surprise you, given everything we’ve already learned from this list, but the Orange Julius beverages aren’t made from freshly-squeezed fruits, but rather sugary fruit juice. These sugary juices, as you know, usually contain more sugar than fruit. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the blenders aren’t washed as often as you might think (or hope).
