The “C” Word
Let’s be honest for a second. We all love a creative curse word every now and again, right? Sometimes a curse word is the best and only way to convey how we truly feel. However, there’s one curse word in particular that many Americans find too offensive to say out loud.
Americans largely avoid using the “c” word, especially compared to our UK and Australian counterparts. For whatever reason, this word is considered to be much more offensive in the States than it is across the pond. Linguists can’t seem to settle on a specific reason as to why this moral difference exists. Maybe we just have to chalk it up to a subtle cultural difference.
