Whether you’re a fan or not, there’s no denying that anti-intellectualism is on the rise in the US and other parts of the world. Anti-intellectualism is hostility and distrust of science, education, and the arts. Totalitarian governments push an anti-intellectualist culture to repress dissent and control their citizens. For this reason, so many US citizens are concerned about its rise in recent years. 

With the rise in fake news and a general distrust of qualified professionals, it seems like the country is going down a dangerous path. Learning new things and thinking critically are two of the most rewarding parts of being human, so why do we feel the need to deny that? The pursuit of knowledge and embracing curiosity are good things!
