Eyes and Teeth Don’t Count
In the United States, health insurance companies love making money. Believe it or not, these private insurance companies don’t actually give a flying hoot about preventative care that helps people stay healthier longer. They operate under the assumption that health insurance is used for immediate emergencies, not preventative care. As we all know, that’s not always the case.
It’s for this convoluted, weird reason that health insurance almost never included dental and eye care. The reasoning isn’t very clear because you can obviously have a dental or eyesight emergency, but whatever. At this point, we’ve given up. Nothing makes sense when it comes to health insurance rationale.
