#29: Air Quality
While wildfires are, obviously, most devastating for the people whose homes and communities are directly affected, along with the natural environments that are damaged, their effects can often be felt hundreds or even thousands of miles away.
As this poster experienced, the smoke from wildfires can spread for miles, blocking out the sun and exposing people to the respiratory risks posed by inhaling smoke. If you live in such an affected area, keep an eye on the air quality reports, especially if you’re already at risk for respiratory ailments. You may want to stay indoors or use air filters.
