We love to celebrate brand-new, shiny things. But there’s something to be said about well-worn, well-loved objects in our everyday lives. There are things that we encounter or use for years without a second thought. Naturally, objects, places, and even parts of our bodies can change over time based on how we use them. We’re taking a look today at how time changes the objects we use in our everyday lives. One look at these well-worn objects will make you take a second look at parts of your day-to-day routine that you might take for granted.
#1: Pen Check
This piece of paper looks more like a work of art than an average office object. This person’s coworker has been using the same piece of paper for over two years to check his pens. This simple piece of paper has accumulated over 365 days of random pen marks. It looks pretty cool, in our opinion.
It’s so interesting that we can see specific moments in time based on some simple pen marks. We can see when this coworker was using a red pen. Then, we can see when that pen ran out of ink, and he switched to a blue or black pen. This simple piece of paper isn’t much on the surface, but it is a time capsule in disguise.
