#23: Typhoon Haiyan
Typhoon Haiyan, also known as Yolanda, was a hugely powerful storm that hit the Philippines and surrounding countries in 2013. It killed more than 6300 people just in the Philippines, with the fatalities being so bad that bodies were still being found two months later.
The incredible damage witnessed by this poster is not surprising, given that Typhoon Haiyan had some of the strongest winds ever recorded in that area. Storm surges were also a major problem, with waves in some areas reaching up to the second stories of buildings.
