#26: Stretching Its Roots Toward the Sky
I’m not trying to cast aspersions on landscapers; what they do is backbreaking work, and it requires a lot of knowledge about plants and things like that. But still, it’s safe to say that it’s not the sort of thing that you need a PhD for. One would think that it’s hard to get mistaken about the basics.

And then you read a story like this and realize that you might be wrong because somehow someone made a mistake this monumentally stupid. I guess if the branches have no leaves on them, they do look a bit like roots, but I don’t think they look similar enough that a person should be unable to tell which end of a tree is up.
