It seems like too many people don’t know that plastic and heat don’t mix well. First, we have the pizzeria worker who put a plastic tray inside a burning pizza oven, now we have this. Should we be concerned? How come all these incompetent people keep getting hired to the wrong jobs?

Also, you’d expect that people working in a kitchen would undergo some basic safety training and learn about the consequences of mixing plastic with heat. Maybe it’s not common knowledge- but you’d expect that someone who works around a frier would be aware of the consequences. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here.
