#31: Like Oil and Water
Working with hot oil has a wide variety of risks attached to it. It can burn you if it splatters (or if, like the guy earlier on this list, you stupidly shove your hand into a deep fryer). Fires that start from grease or oil are notoriously hard to put out, and most people panic and make it worse. And there’s another big danger, as this person found out.

You know the saying that oil and water don’t mix? That’s extra true if the oil is hot. When water hits the hot oil, it immediately vaporizes and can cause a geyser of steam and hot oil, which is not a nice kind of geyser to have. Whatever you do, be careful around hot oil, kids.
