#52: Santa’s Reindeer
Much like the ugly duckling, Rudolph was always an outcast among Santa’s reindeer. Originally, the traditional Christmas lore included eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen and their origins date back to the 1800s. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was only introduced in 1949, but since then he’s widely considered a part of the gang.

Yet, the story has it his red nose has always made him an outcast among his fellow reindeer, a feature that perhaps contributes to his widespread popularity among children. These sorority girls cleverly depicted the story of Santa’s reindeer in their hilarious Christmas card, with Rudolph as an outcast and all.
