#13: The Hottest President?
A young John F. Kennedy ran against Richard Nixon in the 1960 presidential election. As we all know, Kennedy won the seat. However, a strange narrative cropped up shortly after President Kennedy won the election. It’s a common narrative that Kennedy won because so many women voted for him. Why did they vote for him? Well, because he was good-looking.

Objectively speaking, Kennedy was better looking than Nixon. Sorry, not sorry. The 1960 election was also the first time a presidential debate was televised. So, more people were able to see the candidates’ faces and pass judgment on their looks. However, there’s absolutely no hard evidence that women voted in droves for Kennedy because they thought he was hot. The truth is that Kennedy was a popular candidate who was very good at public speaking. He won on merit alone.
