We can all agree that food quality is the most important thing when it comes to restaurants. But so are the aesthetics of a place, the atmosphere, and being able to read the menu. Right? A restaurant with a unique look can attract more customers and be the talk of town. On the other hand, it can also drive customers away. These restaurants all have a design element that left people scratching their heads, irrationally angry, or even disgusted. Let’s have a look.
#1: You Can’t See the Menu from the Leaves
Pictures of the food on your menu are normal. When I feel indecisive, I sometimes go for whatever is featured on the menu. But when the waiter asks me what I want, I’m not about to say, “Whatever is covering half the items on the menu!”
This menu is a prime example of “Graphic design is my passion.” I’d rather read a QR code menu on a dial-up connection than navigate this forest of leafy greens. They say to eat your greens, but at this point, because of all the stress, I’d rather eat some chicken tenders.
