#19: Take a Loan Out
Many young people are rethinking college, and there are plenty of good reasons for that. Older generations raised their kids to believe that going to college was the only way to guarantee a high-paying job. That used to be true, anyway. People used to be able to go to college, land a decent job, and pay off their student loans after a while.
People who benefited from this system passed on this belief to their kids. However, the economic landscape has changed a lot. There’s no guarantee you’ll land any kind of job after graduating from college. All those student loans you took to go to that private school? Yeah, you might be paying those back until you’re 65 because your job overworks and underpays you. While higher education is still a great option, it’s no longer a golden ticket to a high-paying future.
