#6: Elvia Mania, 1960
We all know that Elvis Presley remains one of the world’s most famous musicians. However, most of us will never know just how popular he was at the height of his fame. If you were young when Elvis hit the height of his fame, you probably have memories of record shops looking like this. This retro photo from 1960 shows how a music store went all out to promote Elvis’ new single.
His single, “Stuck on You,” came out in 1960, and fans went wild. He also released an album called “Elvis is Back!” on April 8, 1960. Obviously, there was a lot of press around the release. From Beatle-mania to Elvis, the 1960s sure knew how to go wild for famous musicians. Fans today don’t fan as hard as they used to (well, maybe apart from Swifties). Would you agree?
