#20: Old School Commute, 1959
This has to be one of the strangest school commutes we’ve ever seen. Forget riding the school bus and hitching a ride in your cooler teenage brother’s car. These kids commuted to school via a pulley system over a river. Talk about stress! This 1959 photo was taken in Modena, Italy.
Have you ever seen something like this? It’s pretty nifty! If we’re being honest, this is quite a lot of time and effort to just get to school. We applaud these kids, teachers, and parents for being so dedicated. Taking a pulley across a river might sound exciting, but we have a feeling these kids thought it was old news pretty quickly.
