#38: My Kind of Competition
Look, I like the World Cup. Actually, it’s the only sporting event I actually watch, other than the Olympics. But, as a distinctly non-sporty person, I definitely don’t actually play soccer, not even on the weekends in the local park. The World Cup, to me, is something distant and strange, with people of astonishing athleticism doing things I couldn’t ever dream of doing.
So this seems much more like my type of thing. I mean, let’s be real, I would do terribly at the Financial Modeling World Cup too. I kind of enjoy Excel—yes, I’m a nerd—but my skills stop at calculating the taxes I owe. But at least I wouldn’t completely embarrass myself. In the real World Cup, I would immediately trip over my feet and be trampled to death by handsome Europeans with man buns and cleats.
