#46: RIP, Ray Liotta
American actor and film producer Ray Liotta was famous for his roles in blockbusters such as Field of Dreams (1989), Henry Hill in Goodfellas (1990) and Hannibal (2001), among other iconic films. Fans thought he was of Italian descent, partly thanks to his looks, his roles, and his parents who were Italian.
However, the actor was abandoned at an orphanage as a baby and adopted by an Italian couple, Mary and Alfred Liotta, who raised him as their own. Accrding to the actor, he knew he was adopted from a young age, and in his 40s, he hired a private investigator to look for his birth mother. That’s how he eventually learned he was of mostly Scottish descent.
