#6: It’s a Twister, Aunty Em
Movie ratings let us know what is in a film so that we can make informed decisions for ourselves and our children about what we want to see on the screen. We’re all accustomed to the sorts of things that can get a movie a high rating: violence, gore, nudity, scenes of a sexual nature.
So there’s something sort of charming about this rating from the 1996 classic Twister. In a world where blood and death and who knows what else are commonplace on the screen, this is a movie whose most questionable feature is depictions of “very bad weather.” But really, you shouldn’t need a movie rating to tell you that a movie called Twister is going to show you bad weather.
