#7: Learn to Spin Yarn
Yarn spinning has been around for decades. Most yarn on the market is acrylic, a type of plastic, but many yarns can be made from sustainable sources such as sheep wool or alpaca fur. These yarns go for high dollars on the market, but if you can source them, you’ll have an unending supply for your projects.
Spinning it and dye it yourself also gives you more control over the finished product, and wool has many benefits over acrylic. When it’s wet, it gets warm, and in colder climates with snow, it’s pretty amazing when you get to wear a hat you’ve made from start to finish yourself!
