#32: Learn to Whittle
When clearing out nature trails, you’ll find tons of wood that can be used. While most of it should be left nearby for flora and fauna (we see you, fireflies!), taking a chunk of wood home and creating a beautiful sculpture or useable item is a great way to create a memento from all your eco-friendly efforts.
Whittling has been a pastime for thousands of years, and it’s long due a comeback. You can make spoons, forks, chains, and many other decorative and useful items with just some wood and a knife! It’s yet another great hobby to make gifts for friends, too. With some serious practice, you can also create covers for your scrapbooks!
