#8: Create an Urban Garden
Urban gardening is on the rise, and many companies offer recycled hydroponic towers that fit perfectly on a deck or balcony. There’s no need to have acreage to grow your food, and it’s been proven that people who do so eat healthier than those who don’t. If you’re looking into learning to cook, this is one sure-fire way to have the supplies you need on hand!
Gardening is also an excellent form of exercise and has been proven to reduce stress. It’s a great family activity, and the sense of pride when serving up food you’ve grown yourself is an ego-boost like no other. It also cuts down on carbon emissions, because lots of foods are imported by ship, truck, and train!
