Every mom wants to be told she looks like her daughter, from the front or back, because that means she looks young. And mothers are often obsessed with looking young. So, when this person confused his mother-in-law with his wife, obviously, he thought she looked pretty young and fit from behind!

On the one hand, we can see why this was a very awkward moment for everyone involved; he basically harassed his mother-in-law. On the other hand, if she’s a cool mom, there’s a slight chance she took it as a compliment! We’re not saying she enjoyed the “goosing” (whatever that means!), but maybe she was flattered to be mistaken for her daughter.
