In the past, milkmen used to bring fresh milk to households all around the country on a daily basis. However, it’s another one of the many jobs that have become obsolete over the years. Pretty much since the invention of the refrigerator, the profession of the milkmen has disappeared from the world slowly but surely (and maybe not that slowly).

This Twitter user looks back to the time when he was a 5-year old kid waiting for his dad to come on leave from his service in the Navy. He was so excited for his dad to come back – like any kid would be – that when he heard the doorbell and saw the tip of a navy hat, he ran downstairs excitedly and jumped in the arms of his father. Only, it wasn’t his father, it was the milkman.
