#43: Got to Save Face
When we say or do something stupid, sometimes we have to accept the fact that we’ve said something stupid, and other times we try to cover our tracks. For example, we’d say “gotcha!” or add something to the sentence to make it seem as if people misunderstood us the first time. We all do it from time to time in order to save face.
That’s what happened to this Twitter user back when he was a kid. On his way to school, he thought he’d spotted his good friend Trevor down the road, so he ran on, trying to catch him, yelling his name. Only when he got closer did he realize that boy wasn’t his friend Trevor, but he didn’t want to seem stupid in front of everyone around, so he just kept running and yelling his friend’s name. That’s pretty clever for a 5-year old!
