The hardest thing about breakups is when they’re one-sided; when one side wants to stay and fight for the relationship while the other one has already moved on. It sounds like this guy wasn’t ready to give up on his marriage, and he tried his best to prove to his wife that there was still a chance for them.

I’m not sure why he thought that doing their taxes together would bring them closer together; there’s nothing romantic about taxes. Either way, it was halfway through the meeting when he realized that his wife had already moved on; there was a telltale mark on her neck. It must’ve been such an awkward, heartbreaking moment for him, and I just hope he managed to brave through the rest of the meeting.
