#15: What’s in a Name?
When people introduce themselves, it’s customary to say your name. It’s not as customary for people to state their religion. I can’t think of a situation where people would mention their religion before even mentioning their name. Some people rather not reveal their religion at all, as it might bring on some prejudiced opinions.
Obviously, this Twitter user thinks differently. When he first met his lab partner and he said, “hi, I’m Christian”, he thought “Christian” was his religion, so he offered his religion in return. There’s no way to sugar coat it – that’s a pretty weird mistake to make, and this person was stuck with Christian as a lab partner for the rest of the semester.
