#43: New vs. Old Chocolate
Someone noticed this odd color discrepancy at a local candy store. Naturally, they took a photo of it and shared it with the internet. This candy container shows the huge difference between old and new chocolate chips. The new ones were poured over the old ones, and you can definitely tell.
The old chocolate chips at the bottom look faded and white, while the new ones look fresh and deliciously chocolatey. Although this visual might gross some people out, all of these chocolate chips are still perfectly good to eat. The older, faded chocolate chips look like that because the ingredients separate over time. However, we have a feeling the candy store doesn’t clean its containers all that often.
