#16: Get Into the Groove
Westminster Abbey has been around since 1066. Forty British monarchs have been coronated at Westminster Abbey. About 18 monarchs are buried inside the famous church. Needless to say, it’s a big deal as far as English history is concerned. A building that has been around since the 11th century is bound to have some unique quirks.
This ancient threshold inside Westminster Abbey has been worn down to the point where it’s unrecognizable. The threshold looks like it is made of plastic or elastic, but it’s actually made of stone. The indentation in the middle is the result of thousands, if not millions, of people walking over it throughout the centuries. This stone threshold has probably also seen plenty of trips and falls to cause that big of an indentation.
