#36: The Body Remembers
Our bodies remember more than we think. This person noticed strange lines and ridges on their fingernails. These lines had never been there before, so it was a perplexing mystery. That is until our storyteller realized something. They had recently undergone six sessions of chemotherapy. They realized these lines marked each of those six sessions.
The chemo had affected their body in more ways than one. None of the doctors or nurses mentioned how the chemo would affect their nail growth. These six lines constantly remind our storyteller of what he or she has gone through to heal and beat their cancer. It’s a subtle, beautiful reminder that our bodies always tell a story.
