#21: Scuffs of the Past
This staircase lives in an old church bell tower. They have never been replaced. Why would they be replaced when they are still perfectly functional? You can see the footsteps of people in the past through the well-worn steps and the scuffs in the wood. This staircase goes to show that well-made things rarely need replacing.
If you build something right the first time, it will serve you well for years to come. Materials like stone, wood, and steel are meant to last. Nowadays, everything seems to be made with cheap material that wears down and breaks after a few uses. We need to go back to the days of quality over quantity.
