#38: Change Directions
If you have ceiling fans around the house, you should be switching their blade rotation every six months or so. Most people only use their ceiling fans to cool their rooms during the hot summer months, but did you know that ceiling fans can also help spread heat in the winter months?
There’s a switch on your ceiling fan that can make the blade spin in the opposite direction; this will determine if your fan is pushing down cool air or pulling up on warm air. If you aren’t sure which way is which, just remember that counterclockwise is for cool air, and clockwise is for warming up the room.
