Okay, so in this restaurant’s defense, this kind of round board with a handle is often referred to as a serving board. So technically, they are using it for exactly its purpose: serving food. I mean, I don’t think anyone in their right mind ever assumed it would be used for a salad, but the fact is that it technically works.

But on the other hand, this type of board is usually used for serving something like charcuterie, not a salad. On the third hand, this is a very unappetizing looking salad; maybe it’d be better with a decorative bowl to hide it. I mean, what is that beige thing on top? A plop of hummus or the world’s least appetizing chicken breast?
