#28: No Use Crying Over Spilled Syrup
This next one doesn’t seem as egregious as some of the others, especially at first glance. After all, these wooden boards with handles are sometimes called serving boards; they’re the kind of thing you would put fancy meats and cheeses on at a party. And at least they are flat and therefore sort of platter-shaped.
But the closer you look at this, the more you realize it is a disaster waiting to happen. First, look at that little syrup cup, balanced precariously on the narrow handle. It is going to take one careless reach, or one bump of the table, for that to spill. Then look at cream syrup dripping down the side of the board because there is no lip to keep liquids in. If this picture had been taken a moment later, we would all see what a sticky mess this is.
