42 Times People Received Their Food on Anything But a Plate at a Restaurant

I have stared at this in horror for a long time, trying to wrap my head around everything that’s happening here, and I’m still not sure I get it. What even is that food? And how have they made it look so thoroughly unappetizing?

What it’s giving me is, “This whisk was on a ship that sank in the ocean, and some kind of starfish-type sea creature has moved in and made the whisk its home.” Nothing about that sounds like a thing I want to eat. And all I can think about is how it’s going to get oil on the napkin beneath it.
