In the early 2000s, Segway released the Segway FT with high hopes. Experts predicted that it would be successful, but sadly things didn’t quite turn out the way everyone thought they would. While the idea of a convenient two-wheeled vehicle for one was interesting, it just wasn’t the most attractive to customers.

Consumers’ main complaint was the price of the Segway FT, which many considered astronomical. And although the Segway FT was an impressive product, it just wasn’t a necessary one. Since consumers didn’t see a need for it, the Segway FT was a cool fad but ended up as a complete product failure.
