#32: Clippy the paperclip
Back in the 1990s, when you opened up Microsoft Word, a friendly paperclip named Clippy would pop up to help you use the program – we all remember him! Clippy was essentially a virtual office assistant, and although he was meant to be helpful, consumers were more annoyed than impressed.

Unfortunately, Clippy was just a bit too overbearing, popping up anytime it seemed possible you might need some help with your document. Eventually he was booted from the Microsoft Word program, which many users were happy to hear. Clippy was simply too distracting to be a truly valuable feature.
