Fact: Jelly Vs. Jam
For years, people have thought that the terms “jelly” and “jam” were interchangeable. After all, you would think that they’re practically the same thing; they have the same composition, but with different coloring to them. We’re about to turn your world upside down! Jelly and jam are not as alike as you think they are.
The main difference between jelly and jam is one key ingredient. The three main ingredients of jelly are fruit juice, pectin, and sugar. Jam has those same ingredients, but they swap out their fruit juice. Instead, they usually choose to mash actual fruit to create the jam, which makes the jam slightly healthier compared to jelly. We guess you could say that they put the fruit into a bit of a “jam”.
