Fact: I’m Not Loving It
A rapidly growing food trend is veganism. More and more people are giving up meat, and not only meat, but every animal product, from dairy products to eggs and even honey. Every product that involved harming an animal in the process. When you lead a vegan lifestyle, you need to double-check everything you consume, and make sure no animal was harmed in the process of its making.
Potatoes, and French fries, aren’t included in that list, right? They’re seemingly a perfect vegan option. What most people don’t know is that until 1990, McDonald’s famous French fries were cooked in beef fat, rather than oil. Only in 1990, the chain switched to vegetable oil, as part of the company’s attempt to market their food as slightly healthier – a slow process, taking place to this day.
