#30: Internships & Housing Markets
A lot of Millennials came of age during the 2008 housing crisis and recession. So many Millennials struggled to find a well-paying job once they graduated college, and many had to settle for unpaid internships out of desperation and lack of opportunity. Because of that, Millennials have had to play catch up over the last decade.
Getting a slow start (money-wise) in a career means it’s taken a lot of Millennials longer to save up money to buy a house. Even then, housing prices are out of control and that dream is still unattainable! It’s unfair to blame a whole generation of people for causing the current state of affairs, but it’s pretty frustrating not being able to enjoy certain things previous generations were able to enjoy.
