#10: House Hunters
Homeownership has changed drastically over the last few decades, and unfortunately, it has become a lot harder for young people to become first-time homeowners. Millennials have felt the brunt of this change. Millennials now make up the largest portion of homebuyers, but prices are higher than ever. In order to buy a house, it seems like they have to jump through a million hoops.
Things are definitely different compared to when Baby Boomers were younger. For Millennials, it seems almost impossible to buy a house these days. Meanwhile, their parents were able to buy a decently sized home in the suburbs with one income! Nowadays, people need at least two incomes plus a few roommates to buy a house and pay the mortgage. Where are the “good old days” when you need them?
