#18: How to Confuse a Millennial
The hashtag #HowToConfuseAMillennial went viral on Twitter back in 2016. It was originally started as a way for Baby Boomers to complain and tell snarky jokes about the cursedly awful Millennials out there, but it quickly backfired. Why, you might ask? Well, Twitter user Nathan spelled it out for everyone.
Twitter is a social media platform open to anyone and everyone, but a vast majority of its users are Millennials and Gen Z kids. That’s why, when this hashtag took off, Millennials struck back and defended themselves. They took over the hashtag, making ironic jokes that turned the tag’s meaning on its head. If Boomers can’t take the heat, they better get out of the Twitter kitchen.
