#22: Parent Trap?
Members of the Millennial and Gen Z generations are more likely to live with their parents these days. According to the Pew Research Center, a majority of 18- to 29-year-olds were living with their parents in July of 2020. There are, of course, a bunch of contributing factors as to why, but the main reason is money.
Young adults don’t necessarily want to still live with their parents, but it’s rough out there! The cost of rent, low-paying jobs, and the general cost of being alive have made it nearly impossible to afford a place of one’s own. It’s pretty obvious why many young people are still living with their parents, so it’s annoying when Baby Boomers act like it’s a big mystery.
