Boomers seem to love complaining about how rude and disrespectful young Millennials and Gen Z’ers are, but they should really look in the mirror sometimes. Older Boomers do and say plenty of things that Millennials interpret as rude, such as making tasteless homophobic or racist jokes or not supporting equal rights for different groups of people.
A lot of older people feel like the world becomes more doom and gloom as younger generations get older and move up in life. In reality, the kids are alright. Younger generations aren’t getting more disrespectful- times are just changing. Manners still matter, but the ways that people think about the world and people in it change with the times. Being respectful of someone else’s identity and way of life is just as important as saying please and thank you.
