Few people would recognize the name Rodney Alcala, and the main reason for that is that he is better known by another moniker—the dating show killer. Alcala got this name because he appeared on a dating game show in the middle of his killing spree.

The producers and other contestants had no idea of what Alcala’s real pastime was outside of playing dating games, and this story does not go on to tell how he did in the game. But it would be interesting to know how attractive an active killer appears to an average pool of dating prospects. Digging up the old tapes of that show would answer that question.
