Elephant Down
Dropping bombs on Berlin became a typical objective for the British during the height of World War Two. Yet, they were not always so effective with that approach, especially in the beginning. The first bomb they dropped on Berlin is the perfect example, as it did not claim a single human casualty. Despite that, the bomb was still deadly.
Rather than hitting at least one of the enemy soldiers, the bomb the British dropped killed an animal instead. One dead elephant is not the result you’re looking for when you first attack an enemy city by air, but once the British got their stride, there were able to make much better use of their bombs in the years to come.
