An Accurate Code Name
The world knows Ted Kaczynski better by a name other than the one he received at birth. Ted earned the nickname the Unabomber because his bombing targets were mostly universities and airports. Those locations likely appeared to present the greatest opportunities to harm as many people as possible. But when you break down the stats, the Unabomber was not the most successful killer around.
Even though he created bomb attacks at a rate of about one per year for 17 years, Ted killed only three people the entire time. No doubt, he had hoped to kill more. Thankfully, Ted’s ambitions greatly outpaced his actual effectiveness as a terrorist.
